قام الفريق الطبي بتطوير طريقة جديدة تساهم في التقليل من الوفيات الناجمة عن مرض معين .ولكن هذه الاستراتيجيات لاتساهم في منع الاصابة بالمرض ..اي من المقاييس التالية يعكس النتيجة المتوقعة ?

اذا المتغير هنا هو تقليل الوفيات الناجمة عن هذا المرض

في هذا السؤال تم تناول دراسة تقيس العلاقة بين الاصابة بالسمنة والمدة التي يقضيها الانسان بمشاهدة الشاشات ( تلفاز ..كمبيوتر ) ..وتم التعبير عن النتيجة بمايسمى في علم الدراسات والاحصائيات correlation ( الارتباط )

وهنا في السؤال وضح لنا ان الارتباط بين السمنة و مدة مشاهدة الشاشات بالرقم +0.95

Correlation does not equal causation

بمعنى ان الارتباط لايعتي اطلاقا التسبب ..فعندما نقول ان هنالك ارتباط بين طول مدة مشاهدة التلفاز مثلا والسمنة فهذا لايعني ان مشاهدة التلفاز تسبب السمنة ،، وانما هذا يمثل ان هنالك توافق بين المتغيرات وهي طول مدة مشاهدة الشاشات و الاصابة بالسمنة

اذا تم التعبير عن الارتباط بالموحب فهذا دلالة ومؤشر على وجود ارتباط ايجابي بمعنى ان زيادة العوامل المتغيرة ( زيادة مدة مشاهدة التلفاز ) تتوافق مع تفاقم المشكلة ( السمنة ) توافق طردي .

خيار A اعتبر خاطئا لاننا قلنا ان القاعدة تقول ان الارتباط لايعني التسبب

خيار B اعتبر خاطئ لان الارتباط هدفه الاساسي تحديد اثر المتغيرات ( وهي هنا طول مدة الجلوس على الشاشات ) على المشكلة الصحية ( وهي السمنة ) وليس العكس .
